Wurstfest, and the apartments you can walk to it from

The dates, the gate prices and the street closures, cited to the festival and the city. Then the part nobody else publishes: exactly how far every community we track sits from the park gates, with what it costs to rent there.

The walk

Measured from the park gates, closest first

Landa Park is the festival ground and it is a park the rest of the year, so this table earns its keep in both directions. Distances are straight line from each community's verified location to Landa Park; a real walk is longer, by whatever the street grid and the crossings add.

Distances measured from our geocoded pins. Rents read from each community's own site and banked nightly, latest September 10, 2026.

Under half a mile is a walk home at midnight. Past a mile, in a crowd, most people drive it and then spend the evening thinking about where they parked. That is the honest line, and it is why the table stops at two miles instead of padding itself out to five.

Dates, tickets and what the city is closing

Everything in this section comes from the festival and from the City of New Braunfels rather than from us. We record the source and the date we checked it, and we would still confirm before buying a ticket: a price we read in September is not a promise about November.

The street closures, day by day

The westbound lane of Landa Street closes to vehicles from Zink Street to Landa Park Drive, and stays open to people on foot, for the whole run.

DayWestbound Landa Street closed
Friday, November 62 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Saturday, November 79 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Sunday, November 89 a.m. to midnight
Monday to Friday, November 9 to 133 p.m. to midnight
Saturday, November 149 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Sunday, November 159 a.m. to midnight

Published by the City of New Braunfels. Worth reading twice if you live on the wrong side of that stretch, since it is your street too.

If you rent along Landa Street between Zink and Landa Park Drive, the closure is your commute for ten days, not just the festival's. Renters who know that plan around it. Renters who find out on the Friday do not.

Getting there

The park and ride, the rideshare drop, the coach route

Park and ride. Comal County Fairgrounds, 701 E Common Street. Parking free; the shuttle is $10 a person, and children 12 and under ride free. That lot is the fairgrounds on East Common Street, which our own geocode puts a short way east of the park.

Rideshare. Mill Race Run, inside Landa Park.

Coaches and limos. Charter buses, motorcoaches and limos route Loop 337 to Common Street, Common to Union, Union to W. Torrey, W. Torrey to Elizabeth Ave, and drop at Hinman Island.

Parking inside Landa Park is limited, which is the point of the shuttle. A renter inside the walking ring skips all three arrangements, and for ten nights that is worth more than it sounds.

The lease question

What this actually means for a move

Ten days a year is not a reason to sign a lease, and we are not going to pretend it is. What the table above really shows is which communities sit next to Landa Park and the Comal springs all year, and the festival is one visible week of that.

If the timing matters for a different reason, that is worth saying out loud: this is not the cheap season to sign. Concessions across our bank move with new supply rather than with the festival calendar, and the live blocks on this page will tell you what they are on the day you read it rather than what they were when this was written.

Questions renters actually ask

When is Wurstfest 2026?+

November 6 to 15, 2026, at Landa Park, New Braunfels. That is the 65th run. Dates and prices on this page come from wurstfest.com and City of New Braunfels newsflash 3814 and were checked September 11, 2026. Confirm before you buy: they are not our readings and they do change.

What does it cost to get in?+

Monday to Thursday: Free online, Free at the gate. Friday and Sunday: $15 online, $20 at the gate. Saturday: $25 online, $30 at the gate. Online price first, gate price second. Children 12 and under free every day.

Which streets close?+

The westbound lane of Landa Street closes to vehicles from Zink Street to Landa Park Drive, and stays open to people on foot, for the whole run. The city publishes the hours day by day and they are in the table on this page.

Where do I park?+

Comal County Fairgrounds, 701 E Common Street. Parking free; the shuttle is $10 a person, and children 12 and under ride free. Rideshare uses Mill Race Run, inside Landa Park. Parking inside Landa Park itself is limited, which is the whole reason the park and ride exists.

Can I actually walk to it from an apartment?+

From 4 of the communities we track, yes: they sit within a mile of the park, and The Landmark is 0.37 miles out. That is a straight-line measurement from each community's verified location, so the real walk is longer, and how much longer depends on where the crossings are.

Does living near Landa Park cost more?+

Not by much on today's bank. The cheapest start inside a mile of the park is $919 against $799 across the whole market. This is the older part of town rather than the new-build ring, which is a large part of why.

Is it worth renting here just for ten days a year?+

On its own, no, and we would rather say so. The same walk that gets you to the festival gets you to Landa Park and the Comal springs every other week of the year, and that is the reason to weigh it. Ten days is not a lease.

No cost. No obligation. Takes 60 seconds.
